Kibbe Soft Natural

Soft curves, casual grace

Soft Naturals combine the blunt Natural lines with softer curves and more Yin in flesh and face. Typical: moderate height, soft broad shoulders, slight curves, gentle features. Ideal are relaxed, feminine silhouettes with natural drapes and warm color tones.

Soft Naturals are the softer, more feminine expression of the Natural family. The broad shoulder and unaffected physicality of the Natural type remain recognizable, but Yin flows more generously throughout: round hips, gentle facial features, a somewhat softer body image, and a natural sense of movement in the overall appearance. This type combines the groundedness of the Natural with a feminine warmth that is unobtrusive but clearly present.

The bone structure is wider than that of the Romantic but softer than that of the Flamboyant Natural. The face shows rounded features, soft eyes, full lips — Yin characteristics that give the type its characteristic approachability. This combination calls for a wardrobe that is neither too severe nor overly sweet.

The most common mistake: clothing that reads as either too constructed and masculine-neutral — thereby ignoring the feminine side — or too excessively girly, causing the natural, grounded foundation to disappear. Soft and feminine does not mean cute or kitsch. It means flowing, warm, and alive.

Draped tops, soft shirts with waist detail, flowing wide-leg trousers, knit dresses, and relaxed summer skirts belong to the core wardrobe. The silhouette should have movement — not too close-fitting, not too oversized. A lightly shirred or gathered element here and there helps define the waist without constraining it.

Fabrics: soft but with substance. Rayon, viscose, soft linen, fine knitwear, washed silk-look materials. Too stiff materials break the soft flow of the type; too transparent or very delicate fabrics lose the Natural character. The material should move well but stay on the body.

Colors can be warm and inviting: peach, lavender, warm white, sand, chocolate, terracotta, rose. Earth tones from the Natural palette also work well. Playful, small prints — small florals, organic patterns, soft plaids — are a natural strength of the type, as long as they do not contrast too sharply.

Accessories are lighter than those of the Flamboyant Natural but not minimalist. Delicate chains with some weight, small statement earrings, soft leather bags, hairbands or scarves worn as accessories — all of these work. The Soft Natural looks best when her look is playful and relaxed but not arbitrary — a considered lightness.

Shoes: feminine but grounded. Sandals with wider straps, loafers in warm tones, low block heels, ballerinas with some substance. Very high stilettos read as too Yang for this type. Very chunky platform soles read as too heavy. A balanced midpoint of femininity and groundedness is the sweet spot.

Hair and make-up can radiate warmth and softness. Loose waves, gentle updo variations, naturally falling cuts — hairstyles that appear lively and in motion. Make-up in warm, rosy or peachy tones with emphasis on either the eyes or the lips, but not both simultaneously. The Soft Natural looks best with make-up that reads as though you were simply born that way.

The risk for Soft Naturals lies in going too far in either direction — too Natural, meaning too unstructured and insufficiently feminine; or too Romantic, meaning too fitted, too fussy, too over-decorated. Finding one's own centre means: relaxed, but considered. Feminine, but grounded. Light, but not arbitrary. Those who achieve this balance project a presence that is warm-hearted and self-assured at once.

The Soft Natural silhouette in detail

Soft Natural combines a relaxed, slightly widened bone structure with soft curves — usually at petite to medium stature. This dual nature is why both pure boho width and strict waist-cinching fail on you: the width swallows your curves, the strictness fights your natural ease.

Your formula: soft flow with a waist suggestion. Flowing fabrics (viscose, soft jersey, crêpe, muslin) that play around the silhouette, plus one element marking the middle — wrap cut, belt, gathering, high waistband. Do not cinch; suggest.

Soft Natural in daily life: business, casual, evening

Business

Soft structure instead of hard edge: a flowing unpadded blazer over a wrap blouse, a midi skirt with movement, soft loafers. If dress-code strictness is required, choose a knit blazer over worsted construction.

Casual

Wrap tops, soft belted knit dresses, high-waisted mom jeans with a tucked top. The SN trap: the "cosy" hoodie-oversize set — it erases your silhouette completely.

Evening

Your moment for draping: wrap dresses in midi or maxi length, softly falling satin slips with waist emphasis, romantic but not fussy details. A deep V or sweetheart neckline flatters your soft bust more than any corsetry.

Soft Natural vs. related types: the distinction

Distinction from Soft Classic: both have soft curves — but SC is symmetrically even and tolerates (even needs) more precision in the cut. SN looks stiff in perfect precision; her charm lives on the relaxed note.

Frequently asked questions about the Soft Natural type

Is Soft Natural the same as an "hourglass figure"?

No. The hourglass describes an outline; Soft Natural describes the overall effect of blunt, relaxed bones and soft flesh. There are SNs with and without an hourglass outline — the styling rules stay the same.

Can I wear blazers as a Soft Natural?

Yes — the soft kind: unstructured, gently waisted or belted, in jersey, knit or softly falling viscose. The classic padded business blazer, by contrast, makes you boxier than you are.

Which jeans suit the Soft Natural type?

High waistband (marks the waist), soft stretch denim, straight or slightly flared leg. Head-to-toe skinny doubles every curve; stiff wide-leg denim swallows the silhouette.

Which celebrities are Soft Natural?

Frequently cited: Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson (earlier attributions vary), Kate Winslet. In common: a warm, approachable aura, soft curves on a relaxed bone structure.
